Should Christians Audition For TV Talent Shows?
Should Christians Audition for TV Talent Shows At Rocking Gods House

Abbie Stancato At Rocking Gods HouseShould a Christian audition for shows like “American Idol,” “The Voice,” and “America’s Got Talent?”

The answer is an absolute yes.

But this question could equally apply to places of employment, not just special talent show opportunities. Many people find themselves in jobs where they feel trapped, feeling that God should have them in a better position to spread the Word. Fact: If you pray for God’s will at all times and in all things, you are right where He wants you. One thing I know for certain in my life: I don’t always know which doors God is opening, but I certainly know the ones He shuts. They don’t just close shut, they slam shut!

The process of auditioning for a position on a national platform is an experience in itself. You will meet and impact a small group of people who will be next to you for the majority of the day.

The bottom-line is that God wants us to impact everyone in our surroundings, at all times. Although you may not make it beyond the audition process, you can impact others by your words and actions during the process. Even if you don’t win the gold, you might greatly influence the person who does, and that person might influence the entire nation.

Beware! I send you as sheep among wolves.

I have interviewed many people who have begun successful careers from these talent platforms. The talent shows are stressful throughout, and then they propel many of the talents from obscurity to the national stage. When this happens, much of their past, and the personality of their present, is under the microscope.

Any Christian who has been through this process will tell you it is a test of faith. There are those who will negatively isolate you because of your faith, and there are others who will want to expose your secular side to reveal you as a hypocrite.

Therefore, no matter what you do in life, and whatever you strive to become, always represent Christ! Be His ambassador! Pray for His will! Know that you may not be there for yourself, but to affect someone Christ has placed in your path. The character of a person is revealed in secret behind closes doors. If we can strive for integrity in secret, we can represent Christ with boldness in the light!

Stand Tall, take the Risk, and Represent!

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us” (2 Cor. 5:20).
